2026 Is the Year of Breaking Through
THIS year can be different for you. Not just “try harder.” Not just “be more disciplined.” Not another year of going around the same old mountains.
This year will be different.
I'd like to share with you from my notes—and from what I believe the Lord impressed on my heart.
Here’s the word for the year:
“2026 is the Year of Breaking Through. So do not go back. Break | through.”
That phrase “do not go back” matters. Because most of us don’t quit… we return.
We return to familiar patterns. Familiar mindsets. Familiar coping mechanisms. Familiar excuses. Familiar comfort.
And if we’re honest, sometimes we return to the old version of ourselves—the one who survives, manages, delays, and stays stuck.
But in 2026, the Lord isn’t calling you to manage the wall. He's not asking you to spackle it or give it a fresh coat of paint.
He’s calling you to leap over it.
The Breakthrough Promise: You Can Run Through and Leap Over
“For by You I can run through a troop,
By my God I can leap over a wall” (Psalm 18:29, NKJV).
This isn't feel-good poetry. This is spiritual reality: “By You… by my God…”
Not by willpower.
Not by white-knuckle discipline.
Not by the “new year, new me” pressure that lasts two weeks and then collapses into shame.
Not by white-knuckle discipline.
Not by the “new year, new me” pressure that lasts two weeks and then collapses into shame.
By our God.

I was thrilled to see that when you look at the KJV, it reads in a way that feels like it’s already settled:
“For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall” (Psalm 18:29, KJV).
That past tense carries faith: already done.
Not because life is easy, but because God is faithful.
Not because life is easy, but because God is faithful.
So when you look at 2026 and you see walls—financial walls, health walls, emotional walls, relationship walls, spiritual walls—God is not asking you to stare at them all year.
He’s saying, “With Me, you can leap.”
God Breaks Through Like Water: The Baal Perazim Moment
Now let’s go to one of the clearest breakthrough passages in Scripture:
2 Samuel 5:17–25 (NKJV)
David is facing the Philistines—real opposition, real pressure, a real fight.
And what does David do? He doesn’t rush ahead in his own strength.
He inquires of the Lord. He listens. He obeys.
And then comes this moment:
“So David went to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there; and he said, ‘The Lord has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.’ Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim” (2 Samuel 5:20, NKJV).
Baal Perazim is often understood as “Master of Breakthroughs.”
And one translation captures the imagery powerfully:
“The Eternal has broken through my enemies in front of me like water bursting through a dam…” (VOICE translation)
Picture it: a dam holding back pressure… until suddenly it gives way and the water breaks through with force.

That is what God does when He moves on your behalf.
And see what happened right after that: the enemy came against them again--the SAME enemy!
Did David do what he did before, assuming he'd be victorious?
No, again he asked the Lord what they should do, and the Lord gave him a totally different strategy.
“Therefore David inquired of the Lord, and He said, 'You shall not go up; circle around behind them, and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees. And it shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall advance quickly. For then the Lord will go out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines'” (2 Samuel 5:23-24, NKJV)
But don’t miss this: David didn’t win by doing what he did last time.
He asked God again. He followed the strategy God gave this time.
Let the Lord go before you in your battles and in your life.
Let Him be Shepherd, Guide, and Almighty GOD to you. Because He is.
That’s a word for us.
In 2026, you won't win using yesterday’s methods.
Some of us are praying for breakthrough while clinging to old systems that produced old outcomes.
- Old routines that keep you tired and scattered
- Old thinking that keeps you stuck in fear
- Old habits that sabotage your health
- Old relationships with boundaries you never enforce
- Old spiritual patterns—when you only reach out to the Lord when you’ve already spiraled
God is not asking you to “try harder with the old way.”
He’s inviting you to inquire again, obey again, and move forward again a new way.
“Do Not Go Back” Means You Stop Rebuilding What God Is Asking You to Leave
This is where it gets personal.
Breaking through is exciting… until it costs you something.
Because there’s always a moment when the old way calls your name:
- “Just do what you used to do.”
- “Just numb out.”
- “Just procrastinate.”
- “Just quit.”
- “Just start Monday.”
- “Just go back.”
But the word for 2026 is simple and confrontational in the best way:
Do not go back. Break through.
“Going back” isn’t always dramatic. Sometimes it’s tiny.
It’s returning to:
- the same self-talk
- the same excuses
- the same “I’ll do it later”
- the same “this is just how I am” identity

And if this is for Christians—especially for those who carry so much for so many—here’s the truth:
You can’t step into freedom while you keep packing your old ways “just in case.”
Healthy, Fit, and Free—In Spirit, Soul, and Body
God cares about your whole person.
Not just your “spiritual life” on Sundays, but your daily life—how you eat, how you rest, how you think, how you speak, how you handle stress, how you respond to pressure, how you steward your body, and how you walk in freedom.
“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31, NKJV)
Breakthrough isn’t only “I got results.”
Breakthrough is:
- peace where anxiety used to dominate
- consistency where chaos used to rule
- confidence where insecurity used to stop you
- obedience where procrastination used to be the norm
- health and energy where burnout used to live
And here’s the good news: in Psalm 18:29, the breakthrough isn’t you becoming superhuman.
It’s God empowering you to do what you could not do alone.
Practical Breakthrough Steps for 2026
If you want this year to be different, don’t just feel inspired—position yourself for success.
Here are a few simple, powerful moves:
1) Identify the wall
What is the “wall” you keep circling?
Be honest. Name it.
Be honest. Name it.
2) Stop negotiating with the old way
If “going back” is an option, you’ll take it under pressure.
Close the door to the old way of doing things (it hasn't been working for you).
Close the door to the old way of doing things (it hasn't been working for you).
3) Inquire of the Lord (and obey)
- David didn’t assume.
- He asked.
- Then he moved.
Make this your NEW method of operation:
pray → listen → obey → repeat
pray → listen → obey → repeat
4) Choose one “new way” you will commit to
Choose ONE. Not twenty.
A new way to:
- start your morning (I've chosen to take a brisk prayer n' praise walk most mornings)
- handle stress
- plan meals
- move your body (PraiseMoves 😉 )
- protect your time
- renew your mind in the Word
Consistency beats intensity. Scripture and Science prove it!
PROOF: A 2023 study of millions of gym visits and hospital handwashing records showed that habits form through consistent repetition in the same context, often taking months.
This proves consistency beats intensity: steady, moderate actions strengthen neural pathways and automate behaviors more effectively than sporadic bursts.
Let's not have New Year's resolutions. Let's have revelations that lead to firm decisions.
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart” (Galatians 6:9, NKJV)
5) Get support that keeps you accountable
Breakthrough loves community. 🥳
Isolation loves relapse. 😩
Consider the W3 Sisterhood with resources and a strong, safe community to help you reach your goals.

A Strong Finish: This Is Your Year—But You Must Step Forward
If 2025 was survival for you, let 2026 be your year of breaking through.
So, if you’ve been stuck—spiritually, emotionally, physically—please hear this clearly:
God is not shaming you. He’s calling you forward.
- He’s the Lord who breaks through like water bursting through a dam.
- He’s the One who empowers you to run through what you feared.
- He’s the One who helps you leap over what looked impossible.
So let this word be your line in the sand:
“2026 is MY Year of Breaking Through. I will NOT go back. I am breaking through!
Thank You, Jesus, for going before me. YOU are the Master of Breakthroughs!”
